
Ms. Mwarania is a Policy and Research Professional with over 18 years of experience. She oversees the Authority’s research, planning, and policy functions. Ninette's main focus is to ensure that the Department produces credible economic evidence and guidance that the Authority can rely on in its mandate delivery. She oversees the corporate planning and performance management role, ensuring that the authority's vision is realized. Additionally, she guides the development of internal policies and analyses external policies and legislation to ensure they are pro-competitive. Ninette also manages the competition advocacy role liaising with international competition agencies and networks, sector regulators, and development partners. Further, Ninette advances the Authority’s internal and external knowledge management by implementing strategies that mainstream KM within the Authority.
Ninette has previously served at the Kenya Tourism Board, as the Ag. Research Manager, at Millward Brown East Africa as a Research Executive and at the Consumer Insight where she trained in Marketing Research through the Management Trainee Programme.
Ms. Mwarania holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Nairobi, a Bachelor of Commerce (Banking & Finance) degree from Kenyatta University, a Monitoring and Evaluation Certificate from the Kenya Institute of Management, and various certificates on Competition Law and Policy. Ninette actively participates in Market Research forums and is a full member of the Marketing and Social Research Association, and the Kenya Institute of Management. Ninette currently represents the Authority at the International Competition Network’s Advocacy Working Group, as one of the co-chairs.
